Here are some tips to help you achieve your health eating goals

  1. Meal Prep- Make this a weekly ritual where you set aside time to prepare some healthy food options and meals for your week so everything is ready, available and convenient.
    1. Sunday option- This is often a day when most people have time and thinking about the upcoming week. This will take you 2-3 hours to prepare your meals for the week.
    2. Develop a menu that suits your needs, nothing crazy just a basic idea of the food you will need to have for the week
    3. Put together your shopping list- this will save you a lot of time in the grocery store and you can use it each week. This will also keep you on track at the grocery store and away from the junk and temptations of the isles of the grocery store.
    4. Go get your groceries and stick to your list
    5. Meal Prep- once home cook your proteins up, add to Tupperware. Wash and cut up fresh veggies, cook rice or other carb and add to tupperwear.
  2. Healthy snack food on hand. The more healthy food around you the more convenient and more likely to eat it. This takes the decision making out of eating healthy...you just do.
    1. Nuts in your car- this is a great good fat to have during the day which will curb your hunger and help you make it home for dinner rather then stopping while driving home.
    2. Cut veggies in your fridge- having a container of hummus is a great alternative to dip of you like your veggies dipped!
    3. No junk food in your house- if its not there you won't eat it
    4. Popcorn or rice cakes- Skinny Pop from Costco is a great snack and a plain rice cake with PB is a great healthy snack. You can choose the flavoured rice cakes just watch the sugar contents as it should not be high.
    5. Apple sauce with cinnamom - Look for unsweatened apple sauce
When you have a trusted system for making healthy food options available you don't have to decide to eat well...you just do!!!
